The Albar Sonic GT is a kitcar produced in the 1970s and 1980s. It is probably the most famous Albar car of this period because of its striking appearance. The Sonic made its film debut in the The Killing Cars.
Early examples were based around the Volkswagen Beetle and boasted 6 headlamps and a targa roof. Later examples had custom made chassis. Bodywork was GRP.
The cars didn't make much of an impact in the UK due to them being too whacky!
