The J1 is small two-seater that was produced by Allard between 1946 and 1947.
It was powered by the 3622 cc Ford V8 engine with a 100 inch wheelbase. The engine had 16 valves (2 per cylinder) and was able to produce 100 hp. The engine produces 225 ft*lb of torque at 3800 rpm.
With 100 hp, body aerodynamics and power to weight ratio all help to produce a top speed of 137 km/h (85 mph) and acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 14.25 s. The J1 could cover a quarter of a mile in 20.00 s.
The J1 was rear wheel drive with the engine in the front of the car. It weighed 1143 kg and came with a 3 speed manual gearbox.
A total number of 13 J1′s were made, three of which were factory competition cars. It is thought that 7 remain.
