The Cadillac Series 63 was a model made by Cadillac between 1940 and 1941.

Model history[]

In model the 1940 model year, the Cadillac range was divided into many models. These included the Cadillac Series 60S (Sixty Special), the Series 61, the Series 62, the Series 63, the Series 72 and the Series 75.

The Cadillac Series 63 was a new model to the join this lineup. It was a fastback sedan with special bodywork with three side windows (the 62-car only had two side windows). The chassis was the unchanged wheelbase from the Series 61/62 (320 cm). The 63 was powered by a 5.7-liter V8 with vertical valves and capable to produced 135 horsepower.

As of May 1946 Cadillac resumed production of its cars but this did not include the Series 63.

From late 1940 to February 1942 a total of 6800 Series 63 cars were built with the Fisher Body.
