The DAF 45/55 was a truck from DAF which was based on the Leyland Roadrunner. Competitors include Iveco Eurocargo, Magirus-Deutz MK-series, MAN G90, MAN L2000, Mercedes-Benz LN, Mercedes-Benz Atego, Nissan Atleon, Renault Midliner, and Volvo FL.
Following the cooperation in 1986 with Leyland Motors, an establishment between Leyland and DAF in 1987 meant that DAF also now had a modern range of light commercial vehicles. In the 1980s, Leyland had introduced them.
The Leyland Roadrunner appeared due to the cooperation between Leyland and DAF.
