The GP Buggy was kit car produced from 1968 until the mid-1990s.
It was initially based around a shortened Volkswagen Beetle chassis, although long wheel base models came along later on a standard Beetle chassis.
The car was minimalist and fun, like many other buggies. Mechanical components where simply transferred from the Volkswagen Beetle to the buggy including the engine and gearbox.
The simple bodywork was made from fibreglass and either left in gelcoat colour or left for the customer to paint (often in metal-flake). Four-seat flexibility was obtained with the standard Volkswagen chassis.
