The Tipo 8C Monterosa is a car that was produced between 1947 and 1949.
The cars were equipped with a rear-mounted V8 engine with a displacement of 3400 cm³. Power was sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed gearbox. The engine develops 125 hp and is capable of propelling the car to a top speed of 170 km/h. The average fuel consumption is 15 liters per 100 km.
The chassis is of a cross platform construction which supports the front axle. The front axle has independent wheels, transverse arms and hydraulic shock absorbers The rear has independent wheels with hydraulic shock absorbers. The brakes are hydraulic drums on all four wheels.
The "Monterosa" represented the swan song of the prestigious brand and never reached the production stage. The chassis of the pre-built series were constructed as a 4-door sedan version. These bodies were made by Zagato. The two-door sedan and the touring convertible bodies were made by Boneschi. All versions would allow for 6 people.
In whole, six prototypes were built of which only two have survived to the present day.
