In the autumn of 1919, at the Salons Paris and London, the Lancia exhibited a superb chassis fitted with an engine crankcase with cast in a single block, a 12-cylinder V Strait of considerable displacement (two versions: one from cmc and 7841.41 the other by cmc 6031.86) with distribution OHV and lender a power that, in the larger displacement, it seems to reach the 150 HP.

Interesting is the genesis of this product Lancia in 1914 - 15, almost coinciding with the outbreak of the First World War, the house Turin was forced to shelve the project for an engine with 8 cylinders in V that was processing (patented in June 1915, however, ): the idea of the engine with cylinder V was resumed in 1918 and gave birth to two projects (September 1918) relating to an 8-cylinder V-shaped opening of 45 ° and a 12-cylinder V-shaped with the opening of 30 °, from which he derived the following year, the specimen exposed to the Salons in Paris and London.

Despite the flattering comments of the press, the 12-cylinder Lancia never was produced: grounds tax and awareness of having to deal with a national market still unreceptive to a product from the likely cost prohibitive, led Vincenzo Lancia to desist from production series of this model (the engine, however, seems to have been suffering from serious problems of carburation).
