The U Type was a car made by Lea-Francis between 1927 and 1930.
The U Type was identical to the P type apart from the engine and the disc wheels, although knock-offs and wire wheels were an option.
The engine was the 1496cc Meadows 4EC which developed 28bhp.
Most examples still had the cone clutch. Bodies were mostly open four- or two-seaters. Approximately 300 were built, and at least nine have survived.
