The Lightspeed Magenta was a kit car produced between 1972 and 1986.

The car was hailed by the company as a sports tourer, this was a bit optimistic and many settled for buggy. It proved popular though due to its £250 price tag and expected £350 build cost.

It was based on the MG 1100 (BMC 1100) which donated it's subframes, engine, gearbox and other assorted items including the MG 110o grille which gave the car it's unique look.

The Magenta sold in the hundreds so there are still plenty on the road with many turning out at car shows.
