The Ligier JS17 was a racecar which was designed by Gérard Ducarouge and Michel Beaujon. It was raced during the 1981 and 1982 seasons of Formula One. The car first made an appearance in the 1981 USA West Grand Prix being driven by Jean-Pierre Cheever. The car started in 10th on the grid but was retired due to a problem with the fuel pump. Alternate drivers for the JS17s included Jean-Pierre Jarier, Jacques Laffite and Patrick Tambay.

The JS17s were fitted with a Matra MS81 V12 engine and rode on Michelin tyres. The chassis was of an aluminium monocoque design, the cars weighed 585kg and they were fitted with a Hewland FGB 400. The cars did not finish a lot of the races they entered in due to mechanical problems, but the races that were finished secured some podium places for the team.

Ligier JS17B

The Ligier JS17B was a racecar which was designed by Gérard Ducarouge and Michel Beaujon. It was raced during the 1982 season of Formula One.

The car first made an appearance in the 1982 USA West Grand Prix being driven by Eddie Cheever. The car started in 13th on the grid but was retired due to a problem with the gearbox. The alternate driver of the JS17B was Jacques Laffite.

The JS17s were fitted with a Matra MS81 V12 engine and rode on Michelin tyres. The chassis was of an aluminium monocoque design, the cars weighed 585kg and they were fitted with a Hewland FGB 400. The cars did not finish a lot of the races they entered in due to mechanical problems, but the races that were finished secured some top ten places for the team.
