The Lotus 55 was a one-off Formula 3 race car introduced in 1968 by the British Motorsport Team, Lotus.
The Lotus 55 was based on the Lotus 41X, which was built in as a one-off. The car was an extreme wedge-shape and was driven in 1968 by John Miles. Miles won in the agile car with a few wins in the British Formula 3 Championship and the FIA Formula 3 European Nations Cup.
The car was similar to the Formula 1 race cars being finished in the colors of the sponsor, British American Tobacco.
