The Maico 500 Sport is a car that was released in September 1957 as the first and only convertible of the brand.


The open, two-door body could seat two people.


The wheelbase is 207 cm and the track width is 120 cm at the front and 115 cm at the rear. The length of the car is 375 cm, the width is 152 cm and the height is 125 cm. With a curb weight of 550 kg, the maximum permissible weight is around 900 kg.


The water-cooled two-cylinder two stroke engine of Heinkel had a displacement of 452 cm³ and produced ​​14.5 kW (20 hp). It was installed in the rear of the vehicle and mated to a four-speed gearbox. The top speed was 110 km/h and fuel consumption was reported to be 5 litres per 100 km.

Price and quantity

The price was 5400 DM. Only four cars were made, one of which still exists today.
