The Mercedes 8/11 PS is an automobile produced from 1902 to 1903 by Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft for the fledgling Mercedes brand.
History and characteristics
The 8/11 PS was launched to replace the old Daimler Phoenix-Wagen, the last car to wear the glorious logo of Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft. The 8/11 PS was a car placed in the mid-market.
They were built on a steel chassis with U-section beams, it shares the same chassis design with both its ancestor that with 12/16 PS. The engine was a 4-cylinder carburetted unit with a 1760cc displacement. This was capable of delivering a maximum power output of 8 KW.
