The Midas Mark 1 is a kit car that was produced between 1979 and 1981.
The first Midas appeared at the Performance Car Show in December 1978 and the first kits were delivered in early 1979. The body styling was by Richard Oakes.
The Mark 1 is entirely Mini based and has front indicators below a one-piece bumper. The dash is also Mini based. The car is fitted with an all composite monocoque, which is a signature of Midas cars.
The chassis numbers commenced with D10000. Some cars have been retro-fitted with the later design of nose cone/bumper assembly from the Mark 2.
