1903 Napier Gordon Bennett

The Napier Gordon Bennett is a racecar built by D. Napier & Son Limited in 1903 to be entered in that year's Gordon Bennett race.

It was fitted with a 7708cc 11 litre four-cylinder engine rated at 100 hp. At just 1000 rpm, the Gordon Bennett was capable of reaching 105 km/h, and had an overall top speed of 120.7 km/h (75 mph). All of the three cars that were manufactured were painted green in honor of Ireland, the host country for the 1903 Gordon Bennett race. It was the first car painted in what is now referred to as "British Racing Green".
