The Model U is a middle-class passenger car initially sold by Chrysler under its Plymouth marque in 1929. It replaced the previous Model Q, and was succeeded by the Model 30U. A total of about 108,345 examples were made.

The Model U was sold as a four-door tourer, two-door sedan, four-door sedan, two-door business coupe, two-door deluxe coupe, and two-door roadster. This rear-wheel drive vehicle was fitted with a 2874cc four-cylinder side-valve engine capable of generating 45 bhp (33 kW) of output, and also featured three-speed transmission and hydraulic braking in all four wheels. It measured 4293 mm long and weighed between 1125 and 1173 kg.
