The II was a car made by SS Cars Ltd. between 1932 and 1936.
The SS II was announced at the 1931 Motor Show and went into production the next year.
The SS II 9hp was made between 1932 and 1933.
The engine was a 1004cc four cylinder unit with side valves. The engine was mated to a three speed (four speed in 1933) gearbox via a single plate clutch. The engine could produce 28bhp and the top speed of the car was 60mph (97kmh).
The chassis was 7ft 7in long and had semi-elliptical leaf springs all round. Bendix cable operated brakes were fitted.
The SS II 9hp cost £210 and 550 were made.
10 & 12hp
The SS II 10hp was made between 1934 and 1936.
The 10hp was fitted with a 1343cc four cylinder engine and the 12hp was fitted with a 1608cc four cylinder engine. They were both fitted with a four speed gearbox with synchromesh on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. The 10hp's engine produced 37bhp and took the car to a top speed of 61mph (98kmh). The 12hp engine produced 45bhp.
The chassis was 8ft 8in for both models and semi-elliptical leaf springs were fitted all round. Bendix cable operated brakes were fitted.
The SS II 10hp cost £260 and 480 were made. The SS II 12hp cost £265 and 770 were made.
