The Saurer 10DM was the last heavy truck model produced by Adolph Saurer AG.
The name stands for it's 10 tonne payload. The three-axle vehicle had a power output of 320 hp. The power formula was 6x6. Its lighter "brother", the Saurer 6DM, only had two axles (4 wheel drive) with a 6 ton payload and a power output of 280 hp.
The vehicles are equipped with six-cylinder engines and Saurer turbochargers
The 6DM and 10DM were the first military vehicles used by the Swiss army. The most widespread variants are the 6DM and 10DM flatbed trucks used for transporting troops and supplies. Other variants include fire engines and crane carrying trucks.
