The Sbarro 300 SL replica is a car built by Franco Sbarro in 1986 for a Japanese client.
The new 500 SL Mercedes was delivered to Sbarro with the mission to make a replica of the 300 SL roadster of the late 50s. Sbarro chose to redesign the car to suit the dimensions of the 1985 SL. The replica is broader than the original, but the proportions are met in order to give change. Guarantee of reliability and modern comfort, all mechanical components, chassis and the hood are kept, as well as the hard-top. The interior has not been changed.
The whole body has been redesigned from top to bottom. The headlights and tail lights were taken from an authentic vintage 300 SL. The wheels comes from a Mercedes 600. It took three months to reach such a result.
