The Sbarro Formula 5000 is a prototype racecar from 1968.

From 1969 to 1975, the new Formula 5000 was dominated by big names in competition, such as McLaren and March.

In 1968, Sbarro developed a car to the standards of this new formula. The car was equipped with an 8-cylinder engine with a capacity of 5 litres which developed 450 horsepower.

The low weight of the car helped to permit the incredible speed of 280 km/h on the track. The study led Sbarro to create a range of aerodynamic cars.
