The Vanwall VW9 was a special lightweight chassis originally built in 1957 and 1958.

One car was never subsequently raced, but was retained as a show car by Vandervell Products who owned and manufactured the cars.

Another car was driven by Stewart Lewis-Evans in the 1958 French GP and subsequently retained by Vandervell for display. It was shown at the 1958 New York Motor Show fitted with a transparent perspex bonnet.
